Bitter End Yacht Club Photo Essay

The best way to show off the Bitter End Yacht Club on Virgin Gorda in the British Virgin Islands is via this photo essay. This is our 9th visit to the BEYC and we love it here. Take a look at these photos and I am sure you will see why we enjoy this location which is only accessible by boat. Enjoy....

  1. I LOVE all these photos, you guys!! What a treat! We are in Hope Town in the Abacos and the weather is uncertain for a crossing in the forecasted future. So we will stay here another few days rather than move north to Green Turtle. More to do here. Biked to Tahiti Beach yesterday. I love all your posts - be safe out there!!

  4. Beautiful!
Fascinating to me that over the years it hasn't changed at all. We first went there more than 20 years ago, staying in one of those cottages up on the hill. We had just taken our first sailing lessons at the Annapolis sailing school and were ready to show what we had learned....we took one of their Rhodes 19's, took off down wind and things were great till we had to turn around!..who knew that a boat would heel!...after much effort (the wind must have been 5 -10 knots...we made it back to the dock but had no idea how to stop the boat...kept whizzing back and forth to the amusement of the "teachers" at the sailing school dock. Finally, after about the 4'th pass or so one of them hopped in a motor boat, came out to us, hopped aboard and brought us in...
Like you, we've been back back many times since on charter boats out of Tortola with much more satisfactory results.
    Thanks for the pictures

    1. Reuben. How fun to hear your sailing story, I can relate to it well. We too rented and took out the Hobi Cats only to flip it everytime the gusts ca me through the Saba Rock area. No worries, it's North Sound, it's safe. Thanks for sailing along.
